Current synthesis techniques for high-entropy alloy (HEA) thin-film coatings encounter significant challenges in facile preparation, accurate thickness control, conformal integration onto diverse substrates, and economic viability. The thickness control and high costs inherent in conventional sputtering methods pose significant hurdles, particularly for noble metal-based HEA thin films, which demand high-purity noble metal targets. For the first time, we report a straightforward and controllable synthesis process for quinary HEA coatings containing noble metals (Rh, Ru, Pt, Pd, and Ir). This process combines sequential atomic layer deposition (ALD) with post-deposition electrical Joule heating for alloying. Moreover, the resulting quinary HEA thin film, possessing a 50-nanometer thickness and an atomic ratio of 2015211827, demonstrates promising catalytic potential, exhibiting enhanced electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) performance with decreased overpotentials (e.g., from 85 mV to 58 mV in 0.5 M H2SO4) and improved stability (retaining over 92% of the initial current after 20 hours at a current density of 10 mA/cm2 in 0.5 M H2SO4), surpassing other noble metal-based structural counterparts in this study. The superior material properties and device functionalities are a consequence of the highly efficient electron transfer facilitated by HEA and the proliferation of active sites. For photoelectrocatalytic water splitting to function, charge transfer at the semiconductor/solution interface is essential. The Butler-Volmer theory provides a basis for understanding charge transfer in electrocatalytic reactions; however, the photoelectrocatalytic process presents a far more complex picture of interfacial charge transfer, with the combined impact of light, bias, and catalysis. The physiological mode of operation in sinus rhythm patients is better served by a VDD pacemaker (PM), preserving atrial sensing, than by VVI devices. Evaluating the long-term effectiveness of VDD pacemaker management in elderly patients experiencing atrioventricular block is the goal of this research.
We undertook a retrospective observational study on 200 elderly patients, 75 years old, who displayed atrioventricular block and normal sinus rhythm and received consecutive VDD pacemaker implantations between the years 2016 and 2018. The subsequent 3-year follow-up period allowed for the assessment of pacemaker implantation complications and the evaluation of baseline clinical features.
