Using four electronic databases, this review compiled data from peer-reviewed publications, focusing on the epidemiology and clinical characteristics of besnoitiosis in sub-Saharan Africa. The study's results demonstrated the presence of Besnoitia besnoiti, Besnoitia bennetti, Besnoitia caprae, Besnoitia darlingi-like organisms, and unspecified Besnoitia species.
